The Ford Center Ticket Office Lobby will be the base for the instrument drive in Evansville, from now through June 26th. The instrument drop off location is open between 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.

The Manilow Music Project (MMP) is part of The Manilow Fund for Health and Hope.  It was formed as a grass roots organization to assist local charities and programs.  Its primary focus is to provide musical instruments to high schools and middle schools and to provide music scholarships at universities throughout the US, Canada, and the UK. Journey at Ford Center Has Been Re-Scheduled

The recent Journey concerts that were previously postponed due to lead singer Arnel Pineda’s illness have now been rescheduled as follows:

  • The November 14th, 2012 concert at the Tyson Center in Sioux City, IA has been rescheduled to Tuesday, February 5, 2013.
  • The November 13th 2012 concert at the iWireless Center in Moline, IL has been rescheduled to Wednesday, February 6, 2013.
  • The November 10th 2012 concert at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, MI has been rescheduled to Saturday, February 9, 2013.
  • The November 11th 2012 concert at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, IN has been rescheduled to Sunday, February 10, 2013.
  • The November 8th 2012 concert at the Ford Center in Evansville, IN has been rescheduled to Tuesday, February 12, 2013.

All tickets for the originally scheduled concerts will be honored for the new shows.   Refunds will be available at point of purchase.

Ford Center Nominated for Best New Major Concert Venue Award

Evansville, IN:  Evansville’s Ford Center has been nominated for a 2012 Concert Industry Award for the Best New Major Concert Venue by Pollstar Magazine.

“We are honored to receive the nomination by our peers in this industry, “ Ford Center Executive Director Scott Schoenike said. “Our staff has worked very hard throughout these past months to provide top-notch entertainment and service in every area of our facility. I believe the nomination re-affirms a phenomenal opening year, made possible by the support of the City of Evansville and many area residents. We are excited that this nomination has brought more national attention to Evansville.”

The four other venues nominated for this award include Barclays Center (Brooklyn, NY), Capitol Theatre (Port Chester, NY), The Fillmore Silver Spring (Silver Spring, MD), and Smith Center for the Performing Arts (Las Vegas, NV). Voting began November 9th and the winner will be announced at the 24th Annual Pollstar Concert Industry Awards on February 7, 2013 in Los Angeles, CA.

Ford Center had a very busy inaugural season, with more than 140 events that included Evansville IceMen hockey regular and post-season games, University of Evansville Men’s and Women’s regular and post-season games, concerts, and family events. Highlights include sold out performances by Bob Seger, Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellum, Elton John, and Eric Church. Other events featured world-class performances by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, the Harlem Globetrotters, Jeff Dunham, Disney on Ice, Cirque du Soleil: Quidam, a televised WWE SmackDown, James Taylor, and Brad Paisley. Ford Center receives prestigious Facilities Magazine Prime Site Award

Ford Center is the recipient of the Prime Site Award during its first year of operation in Evansville, IN. Facilities Magazine has bestowed Prime Site Awards annually since 1994 to the top entertainment venues in North America.

Award ballots ran in Facilities Magazine and online at www.facilitiesonline.com. The voters are the readers –booking agents, promoters, talent buyers and special event planners. The readers considered multiple criteria such as seating configurations, sound systems, ticketing, food service & quality, marketing capabilities, event staff and other industry related items. According to Facilities Magazine Associate Publisher Michael Caffin, “Ford Center is among the Best of the Best and was chosen because of the features and services they provide in this highly competitive marketplace. VenuWorks has done an exceptional job in Evansville, IN and the leadership team and staff at Ford Center should be commended.” Ford Center now joins the ranks with other Prime Site Award Facilities such as Madison Square Garden in New York, NY, American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL, Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA, CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA and others.

GLVC Basketball Tournaments Return to Evansville in 2013

In a news conference held at the Ford Center on Wednesday, August 22, the Great Lakes Valley Conference announced that the 2013 GLVC Basketball Men’s and Women’s Championship Tournaments will be hosted by the Ford Center on March 7-10. This will mark the first time the conference will return to Evansville since hosting its postseason event at Roberts Stadium from 1999-2007.

Tournament ticket prices and the event schedule will be announced at a later date.
